K.P. INNOSERV awarded EU GreenMantis funding for SmartBio

We are delighted to announce that K.P. INNOSERV, together with our partner ASSEA Bioenergy (Kos, Greece), has been selected for funding under the 1st GreenMantis Innovation Open Call, an EU-funded programme supporting green manufacturing and net-zero technology innovation in European SMEs.
Our project, SmartBio – Smart IoT-Driven Decarbonisation of Compost Manufacturing, deploys a five-parameter IoT sensor network (temperature, moisture, pH, oxygen and electrical conductivity) in ASSEA’s active compost windrows. Real-time data and a smart alert engine will replace calendar-based turning schedules, so the compost is turned only when the biology calls for it. Our targets: a 10–25% cut in loader diesel use and 5–10% lower CO₂ emissions per batch.
Every batch will also come with an automatically generated Batch Monitoring Report, turning ASSEA’s compost into a digitally verified, data-backed product. Over the next nine months, K.P. INNOSERV will lead system design, deployment and data analytics, and develop SmartBio into a scalable monitoring service for composting facilities across Europe.
