Grant Scheme for Encouraging the Reduction
of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Business
The scheme issued by the Department of Environment is designed to incentivize businesses to embark on a comprehensive economic transformation by reducing their carbon emissions. This starts with Phase A, where businesses identify their carbon footprint and develop strategies for reduction, including essential studies such as a GHG Emissions Monitoring Plan, Inventory, Verification, and a GHG Reduction Action Plan. Applications are open until the 30th of September 2024, with a budget of €5 million.
Phase B involves implementing the action plan and receiving financial rewards based on the achieved GHG emissions reductions, with a budget of €15-20 million.
Eligible Expenses:
The eligible expenses include:
Development of a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions monitoring plan.
Inventory and verification of GHG emissions based on the reference year (average of 2022-2023).
Preparation of a GHG Reduction Action Plan by 2030.
Validation of future GHG reductions or removals for each action.

Vehicle recharging/refueling infrastructure
Purchase of clean vehicles
Energy efficiency improvements for businesses and buildings
Installation of photovoltaic systems, energy storage, shading, thermal insulation, and energy-efficient windows
